What's the Deal With Texas??

Well Mom just left a couple of hours ago, Brittany is taking a nap, and I am sitting here watching the British Open which is becoming a bit of a dud and uneventful down the stretch. Although I'm glad Padraig Harrington is going to win for the second straight year.

I figured I'd update everyone on my new job. So far so good at Hanson. All of my coworkers are welcoming and don't seem like they would ever get angry for any reason. Of course, I've yet to be able to access the server and set up my own personal stuff. No where I've ever worked knows how to get a new employee set up, that's for sure. In general, I like it a lot and hope it continues to go well as my work load increases!

As for Mom's visit...We went to the wonderful world of Chuy's with the best salsa I've ever had at a Mexican Restaurant. Then on Saturday, we woke up and drove all over the city basically, doing various activities including looking at mansions, going to Buffalo Exchange, some Society Bakery, and some super fancy shopping. Later on, we went to see the Dark Knight, and then off to Jerry Seinfeld!

Oh the stories along the way. At Buffalo Exchange, a thrift store which actually had some good stuff, two girls just couldn't talk more annoyingly to each other and bothered Brittany and me immensely. Not to mention the funny smells floating around that store. Outside, Brittany and I sat, waiting for Mom to finish up, a bum was walking by and said to Brittany, "What's 'Cursive?'" She explained it was a band, and he went continued walking as we held our breath. Peww!

Right next door was the Society Bakery. Watch out Magnolia because this is some real competition here. I ate a frog cookie, and we got two cupcakes for later, but they melted down to an unflattering looking, but delicious pile of cupcake and icing, mmm. Then, at the shopping, we salivated over the enormous houses right by Dallas Country Club and all the super expensive stores. We moved in, parked at the first spot, and it just so happened to be right in front of Anthropologie. That should give you the gist of the location.

The Dark Knight turned out to be an incredible movie. I read this morning that it broke the opening weekend record, and I am not surprised. The joker rules. Batman rules. The movie rules. And I'm glad we were able to squeeze it in there this weekend.

Next on the list was Jerry! It was great! Getting there wasn't, but I won't bore you with that stuff. Let's just say I had to walk solo for about 15 minutes to go get us all food beforehand. It sucked! Basically, Jerry explained it all to me and everyone else. He's so enlightening, funny, jolly, and his voice is beyond it all. He doesn't have to do anything but make noise and it's going to make me laugh.

I suggest seeing this guy if you ever get the chance.

There was a big pile of human solid two further down this alley.

Roy Orbison, aka "The Voice"

It was meant for us.

That's quite the excellent picture of you two there. I think it would look perfect on the mantle here in our new place. Be lucky you guys live so far away. We would have been bugging you to come help us yesterday. But we're here, and we're in.

Oh, the Roy Orbison thing is very cool. I am jealous.

Well maybe you'll be able to receive that picture sometime soon. We could at least send you a digital copy. I was just thinking though, we don't have any of you!

Anyway, I hope your new apartment is all you wanted it to be. Make sure you take pics when you're all settled in.

Whoa there sassy business lady - you look awesome :) You don't look so bad either, Will. :)

I miss you guys. Also, the chili pepper picture with Brittany's head resting on the counter is priceless, I love it.

what?! jerry seinfeld...that's crazy awesome. loretta and i went to see the dark knight last evening and thought it was the best movie we've seen since The Departed....glad to hear works going well down there in the lone star state too. as far as the tunnel goes...they've got a clear view thru to the other side these days....plus they are making crazy progress on the fine-arts buildings that are being built infront of the new parking garage....all of it quite ugly to say the least. the quad just isn't what it used to be. have you all gone hunting yet for prarie dogs and armodillos. you should have them mounted all over your apt whenever you do. that should prob be next on your list of things to do.
