1300 Miles is a Long Drive Inside a Car

Well we finally made it all the way to Irving, Texas from Sharpsburg, Maryland. It took about 22 hours of driving and two full days of driving through the most boring of states: Virginia, Tennessee, and Arkansas. The most exciting moments were counting how many states' license plates we saw and reading names of nearby towns including Bucksnort, Bumpus, and Only, TN. Here are some pictures of the two day journey!

Around 6 AM, Brittany confused as to why a camera is out

Brittany was a little tired of Tennessee

6443 Tranquilo, Apartment 2035: What a relief

So far we have been busy unpacking and organizing everything. It took us about two days to unload our pod completely. It was set up about 100 feet away so it got a little hot from time to time. So far its been around 100 each day but if we can do that manual labor in it, the heat isn't that bad.

We had to eat out the first couple of nights due to lack of time and food in our apartment. Each time was spectacular and I can't wait to try more restaurants around town. Today, Friday, Brittany had her interview with the Salesmenship Club of Dallas, which organizes the Byron Nelson Golf Tournament each May. She says it went really well and the job is very promising. We have our fingers crossed!

We will have more pictures of our apartment soon when we have it all settled and in place. We bought a few pieces of furniture from IKEA and will be excited to show those off. Until then, feel free to comment as much as you wish on our blog.

Bonus: We went to a Radiohead concert on May 11, the day after I graduated from school. Here are some pics if you're interested.

Well it appears as if you have settled into your cute cute apartment rather nicely in a very short amount of time. I soo look forward to taking my trip to Texas!
BTW - King Tut - not quite on exhibit yet. He'll be there in October. Tickets, from what I can tell, are on sale now. Dallas Museum of Art will hold the exhibition from October 3, 2008, to May 17, 2009. I read that this will be the first time that the show has been in the southwest!!
Well, that's all for now - keep on Honky Tonkin', you two!
Much love,
Mom

Awww, I LOVE the blog! I got the change of address card the other day and was excited to check this out. What a great way to keep in touch with everyone!

You two did a great job decorating the apartment--I'm so happy for both of you! I especially loved the framed diplomas next to each other. So cute. :)

Also, Brittany, someone called me to be a reference while I was at work today, so I'm calling back ASAP tomorrow. I'm pretty excited b/c I have great things to say about you.

Congrats to you two for making the move; it looks like you're loving it!

Miss seeing you both!
Steph

I was only able to send that address card to you and Katie, because you were the only people to respond with your addresses! Pass the info to Rachel and Meg if they are interested.

Thank you for being an excellent reference! I miss you!
