I drink your milkshake.

The Ravens pulled off their first victory of the year today against the Bengals! According to all the "experts," they were supposed to be hanging their heads in defeat tonight, but Ray Ray doesn't lay down like that. Ahh, I love football season.

We have finalized plans to visit home (Maryland) December 23-28. Hopefully we can see everyone for an extended period of time. I know neither of us can wait to experience Christmas in full and breathe in the cold, crisp air. However, one decent day of weather would be nice to fit in some golf at good ole Beaver Creek.

As far as the other holiday goes, Thanksgiving, Brittany and I are planning on visiting the great Big Bend National Park in West Texas. It is a mixture of mountains, canyons, and desert along the Rio Grande. Our trip will include two days of camping in the wilderness preceded by a night in Marfa, home to the sets of No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood. I can't wait to throw on my best Daniel Plainview attire and be solely responsible for my own well being...and Brittany's.

On our way to the hotel for Thanksgiving night.

And a view from our "crow's nest" room at the hotel

I hope I am here when you guys come home! We'll see though - all depends upon how this whole Kansas City thing goes down, I think.

Are you still doing the AT?? And when do you think you will do this bike trip??!! It is very exciting and that will be quite a journey. How is the tunnel coming alone in Harburg? Hope all is well.

hey....i guess i havne't really told many folks, but i scrapped the a.t. (i know, even the white blazes and all) and am doing a 7,000 mile xc bike trek in it's place....starting in VA and eventually ending up in seattle and going through 10 national parks....i'll be starting end of march and flying home july 1st or so....tunnel in the burg is "complete" meaning you can see through, but it's still fenced off to all homosapiens that aren't construction work oriented....the fine arts building towers over the parking garage...it's crazy junks...hope ya'll are excited for new season of the OFFICE!

But what will you do without the white blazes??? haha, your new trip plans sound incredible though. I'm so excited for you! Please take three times as many pictures as you did before, and we must all get together for a slideshow after you return and are rested. Where did you get the idea to go through a bunch of national parks? It's a gem. If I had your dedication, that would definitely be the bike trip I'd choose.

I have been to Big Bend. It is really something to see. We took a very mild raft trip down the Rio Grande in June and it was VERY hot. I think 114 degrees but no one was sure. They said after it gets over 110 no one cares how hot it really is.

But it can be cold or at least cool even in the summer in the mountain where the camping is. We also paid a dollar each to be rowed across the river to the small Mexican town of Santa Elena and ate some enchiladas in a "restaurant" (room with 2 tables and curtain between it and the kitchen...burro parking out front).

It will be a great trip. I will send an email and tell you more.
